Kaumarbritya Tantra :
Kaumarbhritya is one of the Eight Branches (Astang) of Ayurveda . It is most Important Branch of Ayurveda dealing with t the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents.
The name Kaumara suggest the subject is related to children. It is included in 3rd year syllabus of BAMS. Subject includes pediatric its proper diagnosing and treatment has been well emphasized in Ayurveda. This department also known for its treating Kuposhana Janya vyadhi like Malnutrition, Delayed milestones, Mentally challenged, Muscular dystropy. This subject not only covers the disease or treatment part but all aspects of children like food, nutrition, feeding nurse, toys, and Graha affecting Children’s. Swarna prashanam is practiced especially in pushya nakshatra for increasing the immunity in childrens. “School Health Check-up & paediatric health awareness activities Programme” are conducted in various schools to ensure a health and safety of children’s
Department is well equipped with charts & models departmental Library is well maintained. Department focuses on Special Ayurveda treatment for specific childhood diseases like behavioural disorders , skin diseases, neurological ailments.
