The “Kriya Sharir” deals with study of the normal functions of body during rest and activity. The whole purpose of Kriya Sharir is to explore the normal functions of the living organism, their principles, their mechanism and their actions. It involves understanding human physiology along with the principles of functions of human body from Ayurvedic perspective. Kriya Sharir subject mainly deals with these 3 pillars. The basic concepts, knowledge, and applicability of Tridosha (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), Sapta Dhatus (Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Meda, Asthi, Majja, Shukra), and Trimala (Mutra, Purish, Sweda) are very important in the critical understanding of the disease. Without knowledge of basic principles of Sharir Kriya, we cannot understand any subject of Ayurveda because doshas are physiological unit of the human body. Dhatus are anatomical (structural) unit of the body and Malas are excretory (solid & liquid) part of the body.

The Department is fully equipped with latest Laboratory equipment’s. All practical’s included in syllabus such as Bleeding time, Clotting time, Hb%, ESR, Blood group, Blood pressure etc are performed and taught to students until they get trained. In this Department Physiological knowledge of Physiological activities of human body is given to student. The department has a museum with good number of Models, Specimens and Charts.
