Swasthavritta :
The principal of Ayurved is “Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam” i.e preserving the health of healthy persons and “Aturashya Vikar Prasamanam” i.e curing the diseases of diseased.
This department follows the above principal and works in promotion of health and prevention of disease. This subject is included in 3rd year BAMS. The subject is divided into two parts. Basic principles of Ayurveda, Dincharya, Rutucharya, Rutucharya, Environmental health, Industrial health, various types of ventilation, basic elements of life i.e. air, water, purification processes, Milk processing, sewage disposal, School health, Maternal and child health etc. are included in first paper. While Yoga and Naturopathy included in Second Paper.
The department well developed with all required models, specimens, equipment’s. Yoga hall for performing various asanas Department also runs “Swasthya Raksha” OPD in the hospital which guides the people as well as patients about the diet, Yog, Pranayam, asanas and overall life style changes to live the life better and to fight the diseases. Regular yogabhyasa is conducted by trained and expert yoga master. This department has holistic approach to preventive medicine. Various health regimen are practiced that makes the learner to practice these measures at the community level
